RISA: Providing Climate Information for Agriculture

Keith Ingram

Keith T. Ingram is Coordinator of the Southeast Climate Consortium Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at University of Florida. He received his A.B. in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) at U. of California, his M.S. in Plant Sciences at Univ. of California and his Ph.D. in Agronomy, minor Botany at Univ. of Florida. Dr. Ingram has conducted a broad range of research on environmental agronomy and physiology of rainfed farming systems; in 1990 he began to conduct research on how global environmental change and climate variability affect agricultural production systems, including the interactive effects of carbon dioxide and heat stress on crop growth, development, and productivity.  In his present position as coordinator of the Southeast Climate Consortium, Dr. Ingram is responsible for developing and guiding research and outreach programs on the application of climate forecasts and other climate information to minimize risks associated with climate variability for agricultural and natural resource management.
