ISU Office
of Biorenewable Programs (OBP)
The office coordinates
activities at ISU related to biorenewable resources and the development
of biobased products and bioenergy.
Center for
Crops Utilization Research (CCUR)
The Center
for Crops Utilization Research (CCUR) is responding to the urgent
need to improve American agricultural competitiveness by developing
new products, markets, and processing techniques, as well as by
improving our understanding of the basic properties of agricultural
products and their components.
Biorenewable
Resources Consortium (BRC)
The
BRC is dedicated to the development and utilization of agriculturally
derived alternatives to petrochemicals and other nonrenewable
fossil resources.

Iowa Biotechnology Byproducts Consortium (BBC)
The
consortium focuses on the potential uses of the byproducts of agribusinesses
and the problems of their disposal, with research aimed at the preparation
of value-added products or the safe handling of byproduct disposal.
Center for Industrial
Research and Service (CIRAS)
For
forty years, CIRAS hasbeen helping ISU Extension and the College of
Engineering carry out their land-grant university mission to improve
the quality of life in Iowa by enhancing the performance of Iowa industry.
The Iowa Energy
Center, through research, demonstration and education, increases Iowa's
energy efficiency, use of renewable energy, and the associated economic
and environmental benefits. The Energy Center meets its goals through
in-house energy research and education programs and by sponsoring
energy projects developed by other groups.
BIOWA
Development Association (BIOWA)
BIOWA
Development Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to
the development and growth of Iowa's biobased industries. BIOWA
facilitates collaboration among stakeholders in both the public
and private sector to increase the level of commercialization of
biobased products and bioenergy. Persons interested in becoming
a BIOWA Visionary are encouraged to join. For membership information,
