Ethanol and Co-Products Tour

 

Lincolnway Energy Ethanol Plant

Lincolnway Energy, LLC was formed for the purpose of building, owning and operating a dry mill fuel ethanol plant to be located near Nevada, Iowa. The Lincolnway Energy Board of Directors determined that the production facility should be designed for 50 million gallon annual capacity and that coal should replace natural gas as the plant's primary power source.


Iowa Energy Center/Biomass Energy Conversion Facility (BECON)

The Iowa Energy Center/Biomass Energy Conversion Facility (BECON) is a focal point for developing value-added products from Iowa's abundant biomass resources. BECON provides credible, firsthand information on biomass technologies to create fuels and chemicals, as well as, demonstrations of pilot-scale biomass conversion systems. BECON is open to researchers from all of Iowa's universities, colleges and community colleges, private nonprofit organizations and their research partners from the private sector, businesses and the general public.

 

Bill Couser Farm

The Bill Couser Farm is located four miles north of Nevada, Iowa. Bill Couser is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lincolway Energy Center, LLC.

In addition to raising corn, seed corn, soybeans and an alfalfa hay crop, the family farm's operation includes a feedlot finishing cattle beef.
